FACE

Aging affects us all and nowhere are these changes more evident than on the face. Not only the skin, but every layer is touched by the passing years. The bones of the face lose volume, its muscles become flaccid and fat is lost, principally around the jaw, accumulating at the bottom of the face.

Technically known as a Rhytidoplasty or Face Lift, face surgery is a surgical process that improves the visible signs of aging in the face and neck: sagging in the midface, deep creases below the lower eyelids, deep creases along the nose extending to the corners of the mouth, fat that has fallen or been displaced, loss of muscular tone in the lower face, possibly causing jowls, loose skin and excess fat deposits under the chin and jaw.

We know that the harmony between prominent cheekbones and a firm and well defined jaw region is linked to youthfulness. In this sense, the most current rhytidoplasty involves the volumetric treatment of the face, which aims to correct sagging skin and changes in the deep tissue of the face and neck. In accordance with the unique disposition of each patient, the deep tissue of the face is repositioned, the musculature restructured and fat is removed from the bottom part of the face and added to the malar region.

Combined procedures are very common: eyebrow suspension (frontal lifting or forehead), blepharoplasty (eyelids), shortening of the nasolabial distance, lip augmentation (with fat grafting) or perioral dermabrasion. It may be necessary to take fat from the abdomen and use it to correct furrows and contribute to the three-dimensional treatment of the face, thus creating a more youthful appearance. The fat graft may also be used for lip augmentation.
